So, it's happend twice now, and the end result was fine, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen?
The first time was with Bobo. I had given Bobo the drugged meat, and as I was picking the lock, I got attacked by some crimson poppies, and of course by the time the fight was over, Bobo had re-awaken. So I was getting another chunk of meat and *whamo* I'm in Battle with a very escaped and in my face, with the cage door still locked, Bobo! could it be a bug that if you don't get in on the first time you feed him the drugged meat, he gets out???
I've got a later version with the required patch.

Next was with the swallower in the Rapax zoo. I was just wandering around up there, and I had NOT pulled the lever, I was actually just coming out of the little room you can get into and *whamo again* I'm in battle with an escaped swallower! I fought him and got the key, which was cool, but the swallower's cage doors were locked. There was no "Swallower breaks out of his cage" or any damage to the cage, he just escaped.
In both situations I was not facing the cages when the critters escaped, so I didn't see the deed.

Oh, the two escapes were in two different games, the first happened with my first finished game (Swallower) and With Bobo, it just happened with my new party I've started.

Anyone else have this kind of thing happen??

a curiosity....Hmmmm...?

The door to Bobo's cage definitely seems to be a lot more "permeable" than it should be. In one game I hadn't even gotten to his door before entering combat with some plants (maybe spiders?) coming down the fork from the petal pagoda. In the course of the battle something woke up the Oak Saplings up there, because they came down and joined the fray. One of the "Oak Sapling advances" actions was to "advance" into Bobo's cage *through the locked door*. Of course, the Sapling couldn't do much in there, so it eventually came back out--and Bobo came out with it! Fortunately (for me), I was behind an entire block of Trynnie Champions for this battle, so I just kept Blessing, Plating, Blading, and healing them, throwing in the occasional damage spell when something was in range, and let them stab everything to death.

I've also sat and watched T'Rang Youngers walk through the door from the Monitor to the cross-passage and on to the teleporter. Not through the doorway--through the still-closed door.

Seems like a "clipping" bug or something when it comes to Bobo. it was a battle with me too....I'm trying to think if one of the poppies went into Bobo's cage, and that's what led him out....Hmmmm? Strange.
but I wasn't in battle at all up at the Rapax Zoo...the swallower just...poof, broke free. There were no Rapax guards or anything around, just me and the caged beasties. *shrugs* Some bugs can be usefull, some not so much...lol
Good thing for you with the Trynnies around, that could have been an intense battle with just your party...*shudders*

Glad I'm not the only one this has happened to...I don't feel so alone now...LOL

Naah; I just hit the little "running stick man" icon a few times, and all the big mean monsters go back to where they came from

3 tries? Nice going! I don't currently have a party that could use Excaliber (except the "Spell-Pointless Discussion Group", and they've already got it), but I may definitely try a few times to get the *Light**Sword* for my Rangerettes party, mainly because I haven't seen it since my first game, and I had no idea what I was doing then, messed up the sequencing, and had to backtrack to a save before I got it. Anyone know exactly which chest in Bayjin can hold it?

If I remember correctly there are only two chests in Bayjin. One in a hut and one on the opposite side of the island. I don't know which one can hold the LS because I have only reloaded about twenty times and haven't got anything useful. You can (with a good timing) avoid all enemies except the single Rayjin in the hut (this works at least if you are entering the area from Bayjin Shallows).

LOL well, there is that option too...I guess it's my bad timing, but when I try to run from pretty much anything, I usually end up "running" into something bigger and badder than that which I was running from...LOL

I tried to find the thread, (okay, not an intense search...) about the Light swords/sheilds, and from what I remember they are a random drop from the bucaneers in bayjin shallows..someone correct me if I am wrong (which is likely..LOL)

( I know I can't spell! Sorry. LOL This forum needs a special Wiz8 spell check lol)
