Can't get to AP

Help! I tried to get to Ascension Peak near Bela and later from the Rapax teleporter. Each time I try to get there I get booted out of the game altogether. I have to restart the game, load and try again - same results each time. I downloaded the patch and unzipped it in my Wizardry 8 directory. Any ideas on how I can get to AP???

Sounds to me like the patch didn't install correctly. When you start the game it should show version 1.2.4. If not, reinstall the patch
and make sure you over-write all files.
