I'm doing the peace-variant and am in the Rapax Castle. My first concern is that while the Rapax are hostile I still had to go through the thing with Al-Sedexus.

Question 1: Is this necessary? I wanted to just kill her as it doesn't seem logical to become a Templar after slaughtering their Away Team I couldn't see anyt other way of opening the gate beyond her bedroom to get to the portal to the Peak.

I then go to meet Sexus, Al-whathisname tells me I'm now a Templar, but Sexus is hostile and my only option is to kill him.

Question 2: Having killed Sexus am I now screwed later on?

Question 3: How do I kill Al-Sedexus and "release" my party member?

I'm not at all sure this is going right and fear I'm well SNAFUed for dealing with the Away Camp before coming here

****** BIG SPOILER WARNING ******

Hiya KraGorn,

Unfortunately that's the way things unfold if you follow the Peace Alliance route. Going to the Castle before going to the Away Camp would have changed the order of events but not the outcome.

In order to recruit Sexus you have to become a Templar first (all Rapax go friendly)and then get him. That would still be only for a little while because he would leave as soon as you antagonized the Rapax again, meaning you would have to bypass the Peace mission altogether.

To get to Ascension Peak you need to become a Templar to access the Portal at the castle. As far as I know there is no way to open the door to the portal without doing the Al-Sedexus thingie. The only workaround is to have visited Ascension Peak before acquiring the second artifact and placed a personal portal. Mind you, there is no hint to this anywhere in the game and by the time you get to the Rapax Rift and discover your predicament it's too late. I lucked out in my first game because I had gone to the Peak fairly early and placed a portal there.

Al-Sedexus is back at the temple where you first met her (but with some 1000+ HP). In order to rid your character from the "hexed" condition you have to do her in, which of course would have messed up your standing with the Rapax anyway.

Incorrect on this point - you can kill Al-Sedexus twice - once after getting told to be templar, and once after becoming templar - both without screwing up your faction rating with the rapax (common or noble).

Thanks both, it seems this is a route through the game the designers didn't see, in the there's a couple here:

1) doing it the way I did it it's non-sensical for the Templars not to slaughter my group on sight after they [my group] killed the Rapax's King.

2) Killing Al-Sed twice, even allowing for Resurrection, it's pretty damned unlikely she'll want to go to bed with someone who killed her a few days before

Anyway, it was helpful to know that things hadn't gone pair-shaped on me, thanks.

Programmers didn't give her a choice - dead or alive - if you pour the dark oil she nows it's time to party. Twice is possible from what I have heard - just killed her the once myself - just before my first reply in fact .
