Hello. I am just starting Wizardry 8 and was wondering if this
party will be ok.

Lord
Samurai
Ranger
Bard
Bishop
Mage

Any suggestions would be great. From reading other posts, I tried
fitting as much magic as I could in the party and I replaced the monk
with the bishop. Will a ranger and a bard be ok? I started over the first time through because I didn't have a bard (someone who could lockpick) and got rid of the Valkyrie I had. Thanks.

Sure. Fine party. Hits all the main categories you need. Everybody has variations on that, and any of 'em will work.

~~bruenor~~

welcome to the game!

just about any party can finish wiz8, so the most important thing to consider is: do you love your team? as long as you are happy with them, you will have a blast!

remember, you will get to find other npcs to help you out along the way, so you get to play with some different classes. that's a lot of fun, too.

make sure you let us know how you progress.

That is almost the same as my first party. I have a psionic instead of a mage (my Bishop covers mage and priest spells). They are at level 13 now and are kicking everything in sight so far. Well, mostly.

Cool. Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad to see such a friendly group of people. I only played 30 minutes of the game, but this has to be the best first person RPG I've ever played. I only played a little of Wiz 6 when it came out and didn't play 7 because of the poor reviews back then. I was a big M&M and Ultima fan. This game sure kicks M&M in the butt...3DO should learn how to make RPGs from SirTech instead of putting out the garbage that they do.

I find that most hardcore gaming communities (especially RPGs) have a good community atmosphere, good people, and only a few people here or there who are too lazy to punctuate correctly or even spell for that matter.
Compare that to a community like, oh, Infantry, and you will see which one I prefer.

I find it rather offensive that you say that people are too lazy to punctuate and spell correctly.
This is not an English test forum.
Some people just didnt make it to a Higher School Education.
So long as people are civilised and can get their message across does it really matter if their t'S are not crossed and their i's not dotted.
Ease off......I for one do not want to be part of a forum that will judge me by my typing errors.
Gilrad, I realise it is only your opinion. If it was IW's I would have been banned ages ago

i used to be a strict grammarian, and would almost take offense if someone didn't proofread their msg or even attempt to use a spellchecker.

but, it didn't take me long to realize that a lot of people i was exchanging ideas with didn't have english as their first language. i found that very brave. i don't know if i could do it. and then, of course, there were a lot of kids who just didn't know yet and on top of that were the others... who abbreviated due to time constraints, or just were too unconcerned to correct their form, because the substance was more important to them.

but i was shocked at how many places i found people who could care less how they presented themselves to others and revelled in radiating that lowest common denominator feeling.... and that's who/what i think Gilrad means.

it's just a wonderful feeling when you find a place where everyone respects each other and enjoys all the differences and where you know that you can talk about most anything and not have someone ridicule you or your ideas.

and knip, you don't have to tell me that it bugged you to hear it. LOL. i can tell, but it's okay. you just feel very strongly about it, nothing to be ashamed of. but anyway, here's a tissue for whatever it was that went up your nose.
