it's a game engine to build designs that are reminiscent of the old d&d gold box games. there aren't too many to play, yet. we're still waiting on version 1.0, but we are getting close. it's at .907 right now.

as for people not posting very much... it's b/c they're so busy working on thier designs. (oh, i am the optimist.) plus, a bunch of folk are waiting for it to be completed.

check out cocoaspud's home page- http://uaf.sourceforge.net/ or follow the links below to my site, host of the dungeon craft f.a.q.

ok. But just one question. Do u get a lot of freedom to make what u want or is it quite limited?

just checked out cocoaspuds site, sre his screenshots really the graphics of it? They kinda look pretty bad!

just one answer, there is lots of freedom, with the caveat that the style will be like a gold box game. if you can imagine it, you just need the artwork and you can do it.

what didn't you like about the screen shots? if it's the artwork, all of that can be changed, if it's the format, there's not too much you can do, though you can change the page layout a bit.

i don't have any screenshots per se, but if you follow the link below to my art page, you can see the graphics themselves.
but, if i understand you correctly, yeah, they are kinda blocky. the interface and combat screens are definitely old school.

Question Mark

I think DC is great for those of us that like the storytelling aspects of fantasy gaming. DC provides an excellent outlet to let a DC 'Author' create a story and put their players in the heart of it.

Odds are if you are only interested in Hack n' Slash button mashing random uber loot generating type games similar to Diablo, you will probably have a difficult time getting into DC. For the record, I like both genres (DII is a great game). =)

Diablo is pretty good, although I prefer say BG to it. I like dialog aswell, hack n slash gets a bit borin after a while (although Diablo is very addictive!!)

Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to this board, but I think this may be what I've been looking for for quite a long time. I play a lot more console RPG's than I do computer games, and one of my fav's is Shining in the Darkness for the Sega Genesis. It's a first person dungeon-crawler which this editor appears to be. It also has turn-based battles, which I can't really figure out exactly how this battle-system works. I guess my questions are just what type of battle system does this game have, and does anyone have any idea what type of timeframe we are looking at before the battle system is fully implemented? This project looks like it's what I've been waiting for...a dungeon crawling, first-person perspective RPG Editor which is turn-based (not sure about that part though). If anyone could give me a little more info on this game, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks you,

i think its based on D&D rules but im not very sure. I cant really answer your other question as iv not used Dungeon Craft before but id just like to welcome you to the boards so:

WELCOME TO IW

And dont get put off if you dont get a reply about your question for say a few days, from what i can gather the Dungeon Craft forum isnt that busy because people are doing there projects. If you want more advice on the game then click on say cocoaspuds link in his sig as he has a website all about the game.

Infact il give you a link http://uaf.sourceforge.net
