I have been collecting some interesting sounds and music for DC, but I am having no luck getting the program to recognize the MP3 files. I thought, perhaps incorrectly, that DC could recognize midi, wave and MP3 files. If not is there a way to convert the MP3 to a compatible format?

how are you trying to use the .mp3's? i've had no problem using any of the the three formats (.mid, .wav, .mp3). can you successfully use .mid and .wav?

OOops, It was an MPEG file. To bad because the music, which is classical, is perfect for the background during the adventure, I also have about six pieces that would be perfect for combat scenes. I will try and convert them to a usable format if I can. Any suggestions are welcome.

When you go to load music into the game it only gives the ".mid" and ".wav" file formats. Not the MP3 format.

Hey Arrowhawk. Do you have the latest version of the BASS.DLL in the root of your UAF (DC) directory? I know that this file is required to play music formats such as Mp3, and the like. Here is the link to the download :
http://uaf.sourceforge.net/bin/Bass.zip Install that in the root of your DungeonCraft directory and see if that helps (you will need to restart either the editor or engine). Hopefully that will help.

I reinstalled bass.dll but it didn't make any diffence and I have noticed another problem.
Problem #1. When I go to load a mp3 file from a folder named music in my default art folder, there is no designation for mp3, only .mid and .wav. So it doesn't even recognize the mp3 files, but does recognize the .mid and .wav files. Problem #2. When I try to load a .mid file I get an error message which says that the file was not loaded. Although it shows the file in the list it does not play it at all. .Wav files load and play fine. I know that I successfully loaded and played all types of music and sound files before version .906, but I don't understand why its not working now. Help.
