An upcoming episode of UPN's Enterprise will feature the Borg in a sequel to events depicted in the feature film Star Trek: First Contact, the official Trek Web site reported. The episode, "Regeneration," starts with the discovery in the arctic of debris from the Borg sphere destroyed by the Enterprise E at the beginning of First Contact in 2063.

The episode features a guest appearance by Bonita Friedericy, the real-life wife of Enterprise regular John Billingsley (Dr. Phlox). Friedericy plays one of the researchers investigating the debris.

Mike Sussman and Phyllis Strong wrote the episode. David Livingston directed. "Regeneration" is tentatively slated for May 7. Enterprise airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Funny coincidence. I just re-watched the Star Trek: First contact movie last weekend.

Personally, I am of the "less-is-more" mindset. Great concepts lose something after repeated exposure... The Borg were cool for their first 10 000 appearances, but now I just don't care about them. I still remember how cool they were in the first 2-3 times we saw them. But seeing them again and again (and being defeated again and again) they become increasingly mundane.

Well, I bought that on DVD not long ago. It's a cool film.

I agree.. Voyager totally ruined the Borg.

I Think this 'discovery' of the Sphere will just show debris, and no living borg.

You would think that the 'Tempral Police (Starfleet Timetravel police in the 27th Century)' would have cleaned up that wreakage of that sphere..

I think the Star Trek universe is a perfect example of Temporal Chaos. As time goes on and they throw out more and more temporal episodes, they'll have more and more difficulty rectifying the problems that messing with time inevitably creates.

The Temporal Police theoretically should have prevented that whole episode from happening in the first place shouldn't they? And certainly they should have blocked an archaic enterprise from travelling back for a flipping whale right?

Humans aren't ready for time travel... even on TV.

The major problem with all evil beings of Trek is that they start off all bad ass and super scarey and then the writers are unable to maintain that level of threat so they wussify them (yes I said wussify). Suddenly their impervious shielding is as pourous as a screen door, their awesome weapons loose all their oomph, their superiority evaporates and then the audience looses interest. The writers of Trek in these later seasons just don't seem to be very talented or skilled at creating and maintaining a good story arc and the bad guys always end up mooshey.
