I went to Best Buy early and grabbed it! Can't wait to get home and watch it... If only my students (some may be thinking of doing the same thing) knew that just wanted to skip school to watch it...

The price difference between the Special Edition and the Gift Set (with the bookends that will never be used) is astronomical. $79.95 AUS compared to $179.95 AUS for the gift set.

Can anyone explain to me why they would pay $100 AUS for a national geographic DVD and two book ends???!!!

Maybe I'm missing something, but I think I'll just get the special edition.

Wow, Trickster, that sucks! At the store I went to, the collector's edition was $59.99, and the regular special edition was $30. Of course, I found a collector's edition that was mislabled as $49.99. So I got the National Geo DVD, the bookends (which are cool), and a free ticket to The Two Towers for $20. Not too bad, considering a movie ticket alone is about $10 here.

I got the $30 set, just couldnt see spending $60. MagiK I saw your post this morning and was wondering when you said five discs lol. Thought I got screwed! But got what I wanted I just finished watching the movie discs Its still the best movie I've ever seen. Although I had already seen it once at the theatre it was like magic ( edit-err not you MagiK. I like ya and all that but... ) again! The added scenes only made it better!!! It seemed like it only lasted an hour but the clock tells otherwise lol. The wait The Two Towers is going to be SO hard!
