Does anyone know how to get out of the skull castle? Or where to get the key to the ornate door in the Lich's study?

First part, you can get out of Skull Castle using one of the 3 following methods:

1- If you create a portal before you passed the gates, just teleport out of that area.

2- From the ball room (the room with the stairs just on the other side of the gate), just jump and climb on the balcony. You need high agility and to be unincumbered to do this.

3- From the bridge, you should be able to get out using one of the four pathways (memory fails if which one if any)

For the second part of your question you can get the key from the Litch (you can also come in from the back door through the maze... accessed from jumping off the bridge)

Cheers and good luck.

Thanks for the pointers! I gae em an hour tonight but so far no luck. I have climbed all the balconies, fizzled my teleports and splashed through waterways. Getting out of skull (an awesome dungeon) is proving the toughest part of the game so far and most time consuming. Who woulda geussed??

Check here: http://www.volberding.com/WHints/index.html for some great maps!

Has been a while since I was in Skull Castle but I don't ever recall having difficulty getting out of it. hmmm

The key for the door in the study can be gotten (according to some players and their games) from Adrianna for getting her the scroll of banishing. She offers you either a ring or a key - this is the key that is supposed to work on the door in the study but some players have reported that it doesn't. The other door in the study is only opened from the other side which you reach by continuing through the Music Room where you meet the lich.

Good Luck!

To get out of Skull Castle, go to the bridge, fall off on the left and take one of the bottom left exits (the first one goes to Adrianna and the vamps or the second to Doshi-Gin. Then you head North and can go back out the way you came in.

The key to the Lich's vault can be obtained if you accept Adrianna's quest and choose the key, like Wyvern says. Alternatively you can pick the lock with level 12 in lockpicking skill (if you only have level 7, then use a level 4 or 5 lock pick set).
