Well i found a trick to beat them. I just ran up and then ran back behind the trees and they follow and could not get though. I used flamedrop weak but it was the only thing i could aim at them beat em slowy but didnt get hit once.

Personally, I just waited until I got higher up in levels, so I could just bomb then to death with Firestorm.

When I first met these guys, I didn't have Burning Haze yet, much less Firestorm. But I have always had a thing for Flamedrop. You can see much farther than the Mantraps can, so you can hit them with Flamedrop from a distance and they have no clue where it's coming from. Sure, it takes a while to 'drop them to death, but it's worth all the xp you get out of it.
It is a little disappointing, though, that the toughest monsters in the game happen so early. |
