Lighthouse and Idol

I just entered the Lighthouse map, and those Sirens are killing me with their Dire Charm... or should I say, I'm killing myself. How do I protect against the spell of remove it?

Also, I took the Idol from the Tomb with Nibs, and eventually killed the Death Knight (or whatever appeared), but now what do I do with the Idol? Can I sell it somewhere? I did the "Good" quests- protected Nibs, refused to kill them all and steal the Idol- so that other guy isn't there any more.

I don't have any idea about the idol, but i do have a decent (perhaps cheap) way to kill the sirens. The siren's only major attack is Dire Charm, so send 2 tanks toward them. If one character is charmed, let the other one run from the character until he is charmed. Then wait for the charm to wear off, and repeat. Each siren can only cast it twice. Enventually they will only be able to fire at you with arrows, and when that happens, they will easilt fall to melee.

You can use the idol and the armor that you can get in the Firewine ruins to get a Vampiric sword from the wraith of Ulcaster.

1) Send in your Tank with the best Saving Throws to resist being Charmed
2) Look for items, potions or spells that grant resistance or immunity to Charm
3) Send in one guy alone--even if he gets charmed, none of your other guys are there to get killed
4) When someone gets Charmed, Charm them right back
5) Dispel Magic
6) Shoot 'em full of arrows before they can get any spells off

There are always multiple ways to deal with any situation. And I, personally, try to kill the Sirenes before they start shooting their arrows--Arrows of Biting are about as yummy as they get.

I go with Six of Spades here. Kill the Sirens before they can cast. This is how I did it (spoiler)...

Slowly advance and when you get one in range have every character in your party slam with arrows and bullets. I had Minsc, Kiven, and my fighter fire one arrow after another. Only once did one of my characters get charmed. Another way I heard was to send in Minsc (if ya got 'em) and have him go Beserk. Those Sirens have no chance!
