Chelak's Body -- spoiler

I killed the spiders and the person in the middle of the web, getting Khaled killed in the process. While I was cleaning up the loot, every turn Kivan and one of the others were getting messages that their target was gone...as though a foe had just died in the middle of a fight. This happened only in this one place. Besides that, the loot from Khaled's body was acting flaky...sometimes not able to be found.

I was also wondering whether there was any scenario when the creature in the middle of the web is not hostile.

I've had that happen to me before, where my party members keep saying their target is gone. It wasn't in this area of the game though, and I'm not sure what causes it.. What do you mean about Khalid's loot being unable to find? All the items he had on his person should be in one neat little pile, no?

Not as far as I know. The creature in the middle of the web seems pretty evil to me, and she did kill Chelak...

For those of you who played SoA before I heard there's a hidden reference to Jon Irenicus during the dialogue with the spider thing at the centre of the web. Is this true?

That's a definite Bug of Wierdness+2, if you can't find any of Khalid's vanished gear, you'd be justified in cheating it back in. Centeol's exact words were "I am curssssed. The archmage, Jon Icarus, cursed me for indignities done to him and his wife by me. I loved Jon, but now I hate him."

This is just a quaint little bit of foreshadowing: Jon Icarus was the 'working title' name for Irenicus.

Maybe the working title, but the story that this... person tells makes no sense in the lights of SOA.
