Starting Throne of Bhaal

I think I know the answer to this already, but do you have to finish Shadows of Amn in order to start playing Throne of Bhaal? I would, of course, prefer to take that route but I am stuck (literally, not meaning I can't figure it out) in Ust Natha. Apparently there is a bug in the game where you can get stuck there and never get out, and I think I've hit it. I tried the cheat code to change locations, but I always get an error ("lua: indexed expression not a table") when I run the command in the console.

Anyway, Throne of Bhaal is sitting on my desk and I'm thinking of just going straight to that one, which leads back to my original question... do I need to finish Shadows of Amn to start Throne of Bhaal?

no you do not NEED to finish SoA.. though the story runs most smoothly if you do.... You can just start a new game of ToB and load up the stuck character... their XP will be raised if it isnt higher already to 250000 and u can continue on... but your party characters will not go with you

. Well u can export/import ur current character into ToB with all his current items(if u have a bag of holding take that stuff out or else u'll lose it). but u can also bring in a saved game with all ur party members! so if u have a romance it will still continue, yay! glad to help!

No, you dont have to complete the game.
As our LotR-elf said, you can start a new character, and then start with 295000 XP, or as our Blue Lady said, import your SoA-character with all his equipment and XP.
You should really just install it, it's a great game!

Ifs its any help, that error message occurs when you type in the command wrongly, so you should still be able to CLUA out of ust natha.

Install ToB and start a new SoA game, Watchers Keep will be one of the areas you can go to! Its on the map before hand too!

No, you have to have ToB, but you can access Watchers Keep in the SoA-section, when you have ToB instaled.

Thanks all. I'll try to warp myself out of Ust Natha a couple more times. If unsuccessful, I'll just go straight to playing Throne of Bhaal with my imported character, and I'll just have to wonder how great the ending of Shadows of Amn is...
