Hi all.
I am looking at starting with a shapeshifter ( with the EOU mod ) and then dualing him to either a fighter or ranger. Once dualed, will I be able to wear armour Thx |

Your answer is yes. BTW, you'll only be able to dual him to fighter, not ranger.

I'm 98% sure that shapeshifters will NEVER be able to wear any sort of armor, barring the Universal Mage Robes mod, which opens up the lesser Mage Robes (Knave's, Cold Resistance, etc.) up to pretty much everybody.

I've run a Shapeshifter -> Fighter once before, and he was able to wear armor and shapeshift; however, as I recall this was an older version of Weimer's "rebalanced" shifter, so it might be worthwhile testing this on a plain vanilla one.

Whats the point of a Shapeshifter/Fighter? Would he have enhanced THAC in Greater Werewolf form? Otherwise I don't see the point.

Building a Druid->Fighter (or Avenger, or Totemic) is a very viable character; Priests only have a few good ToB HLAs, so you could easily stay a Druid long enough to collect them (and get a fair number of Level 7 spellslots in the process) and then Dual. When you come out, you've got the hitpoints of a Priest (which aren't bad), the THAC0, Saving Throws, and weapon proficiencies of a Fighter, plus a full battery of spells, including all the good Quest-level spells. Not bad at all.
The Shapeshifter, however, is pretty much a lost cause: The BioWare version is too underpowered to use (I personally just pretend that Cernd never existed), and Weimer's version is too overpowered to use. A guy named Wolf Lord is working on a good-looking middle ground, though.

Hmm... if we want to go extreme, we can have a level 22/23 Druid->Fighter. You can however, only choose one Priest HLA. Hmm...
Ctrl+A for ToB Spell Spoilers 3D2F1B">Implosion, Summon Deva, Energy Blades, or Storm of Vengence? Choices, choices... You will definitely want to get the GDB HLA though. Combined with Fireseeds, it is just sickeningly fun to (ab)use. Also, another advantage of dualling over to a Fighter, is that you get to benefit from all the Warrior-only items, such as the GoES, Potions, etc... And yes, you can cast Druid spells in spanking Full Plate Mail. ADD] Not easy to roll though. If this was an ideal world, you would want the following, 17 STR 18 DEX 16 CON 10 INT 18 WIS 15 CHA That is 94 points... Right... time for a revision. 17 STR <- Compulsory minimum 10 DEX <- No penalties 16 CON <- For maximum HP 10 INT <- No penalties 18 WIS <- For additional spellslots 15 CHA <- Compulsory minimum 'Only' 86 points this time round. Very feasible to roll, without growing a beard in the process. Life of course, will be much easier if you had rolled this character in BG1 first. ![]() You can overlook the AC bonuses of high DEX by covering it with Ironskins.
