As in, I should install it from the start?

Does it just add areas in, or is it a seperate story AFTER the final battle of BG2?

Whats the best way to do it?

Install it from the start, then install the ToB patch instead of the SoA one.

It's mostly post-SoA, but there is one area you can access in both and a few gameplay tweaks that you'll benefit from as well.

I thought there would be gameplay tweaks.

So, how do you start ToB once you have finished SoA? Does it just carry on, or do you then have to export or anything like that?

Yeah, it's pretty seamless. IIRC you get a Final Save in the same manner as BG1. You can, however, start a fresh ToB game if it takes your fancy of course

Wit hnew characters you get a "Bag of Surprise"

It has some goodies, and remember!

If you imported from the final save, your bag of holding will *not* be imported!

My rant is done. have a nice day.

Are you sure? I always thought they were imported with your character.

Yup, I'm pretty sure that my bag of holding has always made the transfer successfully. I hang on to all my unique items so I would be pretty peeved if they went missing!

ToB brings with it the mighty TAB-function! Don't forget that!

I consider ToB very poor - the absolute worst in the series. It is an extra storyline after the conclusion of SoA, but linear to the extreme and practically without any sidequests. Nevertheless somehow you got to have it. Curiosity killed the cat.
There is a dungeon crawl very similar to Durlags Tower. This can be accessed from both SoA and ToB.

Seriously? Methinks ToB is a much better sequel than TotSC. Maybe because ToB is more add-on while TotSC is add-in, but I overall enjoyed ToB much more than TotSC.

Another thing that should be mentioned are the HLA's. You easily get over the XP-cap in SoA, and just a remover will not give you said abilities. So atleast make sure to have it installed around, say, Underdark, if you've got it.
