Hey all,

I just reinstalled BG2 last night and found that during the display test, the 3 squares were flickering (which means that something is not right). After looking at a few forums, I found out that the problem was with the latest nvidia driver (7.x or something like that). Rolling back the driver to the older version fixed the problem and BG2 works like a champ again.

Anyway, I just wanted to spew forth this bit of wisdom since I did not see it anywhere in the forum and thought that someone may also experience this as well.

Hmm, I wonder if the squares would stop flickering with the newer drivers if 3D Acceleration was disabled. I had several issues trying to get BG2 working on an nvidia card with 3D acceleration enabled (with newer drivers at least) and flicking was one of them.

I'm playing BG2 (w/ latest patch) and nvidia drivers version 76.44. the game plays fine, but durning the test (in bgconfig) the squares might have flickered or blinked on/off a few times. also, 3d acceleration is enabled too.

Hi all

I had the same problems with both Icewind Dale 1&2. Nvidia 7x drivers would not work but 66.93 backwards are OK.

Welcome to the boards, Alboy

I've had problems with nvidia and other games. I'm using an old version of it; it works fine for me and i see no reason to update it.
