Anyway, as I was strolling along looking for the 'man in red' in the Bridge district, I came across a couple of ogre slaves that were arguing with their master. Apparently they were sick and didn't feel like working. The master thought he was a big shot and got lippy, and then got his arse handed to him by the ogres. Then they just kinda casually strolled by me and walked away. Who knows, maybe they were going to the pub for a post-master-slaughter drink.

ANYWAY, point is, are there other random events like that one that I've missed? I mean, everyone knows about the Underdark entrance where the dude gets killed as soon as you walk into the city, and I've seen a few where vampires and shadow theives fight in the street after some dialogue, some of which is arguing, some of which is them conspiring to join forces. How many other little hidden 'encounters' like this are there? I don't mean things that happen in every game, like the Underdark one... just things that aren't necessary to further the story but are still in the game that I may have missed. Little elements like that are what make me appreciate this game so much and I'd like to see more of them. (please excuse spelling errors, I'm typing with the window closed at work)

Sometimes when you go into the slums, and walk by the slave ship, there are slaves out there and a guard comes up, they talk alittle, and the slave master pays the gaurd off and he leaves.

also, the first time in the city gates, when you try to leave there is a man in black (looks like a shadow thief) comming into the city, and the gaurd captain stops him and stuff, blah blah blah, they talk, the guard ask what his trade is, he says he sells silks and spices, ends up giving him "a black flower" or something (black lotus) then lets him go, you can then question the gaurd but it wont do any good

Hehe, I had to laugh.
hehe I didn't even catch that.

Well yeah, I know about the guy at the gates... that's one of those unavoidable ones. Still kinda neat tho. I also thought of the one encounter where someone starts crap with Mazzy by the Copper Coronet. Last few times I rushed like mad thru the game so I didn't see too much. Now that I'm taking my time I want to do as much as possible so, any more anyone can think of?

That encounter in the Bridge District you mentioned was originally part of the "Unfinished Quests" question in my 2nd SoA Quiz--"Protect Quadeel from the Dockhand Ogres." But, later on, I discoved that BioWare did finish that quest, so I had to remove it from the list.

Anyway, if you kill the Ogres before they kill Quadeel, you'll get a reward. Why you should be rewarded for standing between a man and his Darwin Award, I don't know.

Other encounters: Well, there's Bubbles, Carbos & Shank, but that's only funny if you've played BG1.....

"YOU! HAVE YOU SEEN MY HUSBAND! I KNOW HE'S HERE SOMEWHERE!"

You can give some finality to Radeel (the man standing by the north exit from Waukeen's Promenade) if Minsc is in the party.

Salvanas (the Elf in the Copper Coronet) flirts with every Female in the party except Imoen. Save before having Edwina talk to him, though.

After you talk to the Dao Djinn in Trademeet, you can head for the North exit from Trademeet and encounter a Shadow Thief. This is noteworthy because she carries a unique item, which is difficult to get from her. Rather trivial, though, as the item is close to worthless.

All of the "Hey, do you want to buy this Sphere? Only 500gp!" dialogues with Waylane...

Oh yes! One of my favorites! The "MY MOTHER SAYS" girl in the Bridge District!

Six, you're almost reminding me of Dungeon MAster from the 80's D&D cartoons with some of those open ended clues. But I appreciate the pointers. I'll see what I can do to find some of those... and as for the Edwina one, I've got an evil party a-brewin with the sole purpose of taking him/her around for as many encounters as I can before he's 'fixed'. *adds "talk to Salvanas" to the list*

Thanks again tho

Well, that Trademeet one is new to me... maybe cause I skipped the whole Trademeet area my first few times thru the game... I'm not being picky about what I consider 'counting'... basically I just want to see and do all the things I can in this game. I'm one of 'those people.'

The party of slavers who attack you is not random. I believe if you leave the graveyard for the first time, or move to a different area in Athkatla 3-4 times they will attack you.

I like "Uncle Lester" coming back from the dead in the cemetery. HEEE

*GAH* - I've played this game six times and I've NEVER come across those ogres. Where the hell does this happen? I'm gonna look around the Bridge District tonight...

ALSO - If you're new to Trademeet - BE SURE to talk to a guy named Neeber
