I tried for a long time to engage multiplayer but I was nay succesful can someone please help me out.

I dont get what you mean by 'engage multiplayer', you couldnt connect to game? Could you explain in more detail please.

yeah there can be lots of problems with mplayer.
common problems that i know - different patches - different caches and framerate (config of bg) - slow or laggy network there are many more ... but these are the most common ones that i know of.

If anyone wants to play multiplayer, Im for hire. Haven´t had time to try that yet.

How to run multiplayer.
First up you need two or more machines with an *identical* installation of BG2. Same patches, same fixpacks, same mods, same everything. The you choose one of the machines, the one with the best connection for preference, and make it the host. You need to find the IP address of the host. On a LAN it will usualy stay constant, but an internet IP it can and usualy will change from connection to connection. You can find the IP address by running the programs winipcfg or ipconfig /all on the host from a MSDOS prompt (start->run->command/cmd). Internet is under the ppp adapter in winipcfg and usualy the last in the list in ipconfig. When you have that number distributed among players, load the host and start the game, then load the clients, start the game and give them the hosts IP. With a little luck, they will connect and you can start playing.
