.m4a to .mp3 conversion?

I'm looking to convert .m4a files to mp3. format. So far I've found this: http://download.cnet.com/Magic-M4A-t...-10726540.html on cnet.com.

Is this a reliable/safe program? Or can anyone recommend a better (but still free) program? User-friendly is a plus, of course.

Not quite sure what you want. The DL is from CNET, so it should be "safe", in that it won't have malware. As for reliability, I assume there is always some sort of quality change when converting formats. As to whether it will do the job... give it a try!

Well, I was kinda leaning towards someone saying, "I know this program; it sucks." or "great program, very reliable, even lets you adjust the kbps."

At any rate, I guess I'll give it a try. Unless someone could recomend a program they have personal experience with?

Since you are an audiophile, would you trust someone else's review on conversion software without trying it yourself?
iTunes software may convert m4a files for you, but you would be going from a non-proprietary format (m4a) to a proprietary one (mp3). I'm sure you wouldn't want to deprive the starving artists of their just royalties.

Not at all, I own original cd's of all the music.

I have a disc that came with my mp3 player that had a creative labs converter. Unfortunately, that's burried in storage at the moment. So I have to look for a decent free download for the time being.

What part of getting opinions before trying something is a bad thing?
