Thumbs Up Anyone playing Civilization V?

I finally got it and am loving it. It feels like Civ 4 streamlined and tweaked into what it should have been. Sometimes I forget I am playing a new game, but rather a better version of the old one. I will say I kinda miss trading technologies though, but otherwise, if you are a fan of Civ, grab it.

Overall i like it, but only after tweaking the game speed.
I made building production 4x faster but kept everything else the same. Though i hope someone comes out with a balanced overhaul of the social policy system since too much of it is useless with a few real gems.

I'm definitely getting it!! I remember many, many sleepless nights playing all the earlier Civs, hope this one is as good.

Is there an easy way to do that? Ini file or somethin? I'd maybe make it 2x faster at max.

the game speed settings
just change marathon speed or whatever speed you prefer to have a lower number for constructing buildings.
I use XML notepad 2007 and i havent had any issues with it.

Oh. I usually play marathon or epic (the longer ones) but I think they affect everything including production don't they? Anyways, thanks.

yea, you just edit that files so that things get produced faster
For me, i basically changed all of marathon settings to standard settings eg 100 on most stuff, except constructpercent which i put as 50. This lets you build buildings a little bit faster than you can research new tech while keeping the military proliferation low.
