hiya folks sorry to bother you guys again but ive decided to plan ahead and keep my current party which consist of nalia korgan aerie jahiera minsc and my paladin
currently im in chapter 2 and i know i will get back imoen in later chapters..so how do i prevent her from joining my party or does she play a significant role in storyline and is necessary to finish the game as for disbanding party members..is there anyway to get them back for future references..for example if i did the planar sphere quest and i need to get valynar in my party adn then i choose to let korgan go..is there a way to get him back? any possible loopholes i would appreciate : ) thx for the time |

She is not compulsory. She will whine a bit, but you are not forced to accept her into the party. Basically, you can tell her to take a hike. as for disbanding party members..is there anyway to get them back for future references..for example if i did the planar sphere quest and i need to get valynar in my party adn then i choose to let korgan go..is there a way to get him back? any possible loopholes i would appreciate : ) Either tell Korgan to stay where he is( and then remember where you left him), or tell him to go back home/Copper Coronet/elsewhere. Take heed and beware, do not tell people to stay in obscure places like Spellhold or Sahuagin City. Your best bet is to drag them to the Copper Coronet, and tell them to stay put there. |

Once u kick a party member out of your party, all you have to do it tell them to go somewhere like the coppor corronet and then go there when u want them again and talk to em. Or, if u tell them to stay where they are, what i do is just make a note on the map so i dont forget

A word of warning: When you boot a character from the team, they will check the party's Reputation. If they're not happy with the way you've been running the party (They're Neutral Evil, and the Party has a Rep of 16), they will leave the party in a huff and never come back. You have to raise or lower your Rep to a level that the character will be more comfortable with before you boot them. That's been my experience in BG1, anyway, the NPCs might be a little more laid-back in BG2.

What the red dragon said is true. Kogan won´t join you if your reputation is high enought (I don´t know the cut off value, I tried with a reputation of 20 and he kept saying that we should get lost and so on).
Imoen is a trouble. Yes, you can tell her to take a hike, she advances just a few levels after she disapears and is now the most weak party member I have - but she is alowed to use many more spels than any other mage at the same level. I don´t know, but I´ll bet on her. The group you have is very respectable. But if you are concerned with integrity, I´d send Kogan away just after doing his quest (is impossible to do his quest without him in the party). He will get Jahiera and Aerie very upset most of time (he is an evil character in a good party). Maybe Jahiera will give up the group, but I´m sure Aerie will (I don´t know if Minsk follows her out of the group). If you don´t intend to get Imoen back, chose six characters and have most of then all the time (in the planar sphere you don´t need Valigar all the time. Have he open the door and then expell him from the group, to have the official member back. The Xp´s will then go to the right place) Last Advice, if you choose to let Korgan go, put Jan in his place (the Thief ilusionist gnome found in Government district). Your grup dos not have a decent thief (very important in the game) |

(Just an elaboration on a point Dundee Slaytern brought up re Spellhold/Imoen:
If you take a party of six to Spellhold, and decide to let Imoen rejoin you, you'll have to dump one NPC in Spellhold... I dumped Jan the first time, thinking I could get him back later... well I couldn't - he was forever stranded in that area of Spellhold - IIRC I couldn't even tell him to go to the Copper Coronet! [However, you can tell Imoen to find her way to the CC] My workaround for this was to only take five to sail for Spellhold, if I was a good party and came to retrieve Imoen.) |
