I'm really pulling my hair out trying to find the (or a) ring of invisibility in baldurs gate 2. Any ideas?

You can get one from a chest in the secret room of the Crooked Crane in the City Gate area. If you're not sneaky enough, then you'll have to fight and defeat the Lich. In my case, I'm not that sneaky to bypass the Lich so I usually end up fighting him.

Just buy ring of air-control(?) at the adventures mart - it/they gives improved invisibility 1/day

Brennan Risling in the Den of the Seven Vales, 2nd floor, has one. however, he gets angry at Mencar Pebblecrusher and leaves real quick. concentrate all your efforts on him first, and you will get it. However, unless you are using it for a Cespenar component, (not sure it is one) just follow Ar-Cunin's advice. both of those are much easier than fighting the lich.
