Not actually Fantasy. Set in the time of Neanderthal and Cro-Magnon man. Stone age. Principle char is a Cro-Magnon woman who's parents died in an earthquake and she was brought up by Neanderthals. Excellent series.
I think Auel may be French, but not sure, and s/he hasn't written another for over 10 yrs, so I'm wondering if s/he is dead. Anyone know? There should have been another book, the last one seemed to setting up for a continuation.

I've read the whole series Fljotsdale. I, too, have wondered if she'll ever finish the series. It was enjoyable reading, tho I like the "Clan of the Cave Bear" best.

Yeah, Bilqis, I agree. My favourite, too! Glad to know she is a 'she'. Never was sure!
Hm. I think I might just do a Search on the net to find info... I really want the next book!

Bilqis? I just found a site that said:

A much asked question is "When is Book 5 coming out?" The official answer is : No-one knows yet. Latest reports say that Jean is still working on Book 5 (and Book 6 which should be released not long after Book 5). The delay is said to be because of new findings that she needed to research to incorporate them (Such as the Mammoth that was found perfectly preserved).

So at least we know she is still alive and working on it! I reckon she will incorporate the Ice Man as well. Hope so!

Oh great Fljotsdale! I'm thrilled to hear it!! Something to look forward to... tho I hope she doesn't take too long. She will eventually die and it would be a shame for the series to be unfinished! I hate when that happens.

They're good! Go get the other 2, and pray 5 & 6 will come out SOON! I've been waiting 10+ years!
