Hey guys! I am going to be starting up here and I look forward to the challange I have heard this place can bring to those who enter the server.

Question though, does UMD matter? Let me rephrase that...Are there level restriction requirements for items? Things a wizard can use, are they available to any class?

I ask as it will determine the build I make to play. I -love- using all items and the old UMD gives melee characters that edge...so? Any information for a noob?

Thanks.

There are no lvl restrictions and I have found UMD to very useful.
Look forward to seeing you in EfU.

UMD is extremely useful, for bards/rogue types. The higher it is, the more stuff you can use, so it is worth maxing out, for chars that can actually take it. You'll not see many fighters gaining the skill, it's greyed out for them.

I have always wondered about something: as a rogue/wizard blend, does having Use Magical Device as a skill really help? I have always managed to pick it up as well as Lore so I could use clerical scrolls. I like the ability to choose my best "weapons" for the job when I have a good level of UMD.
