what are you talking about firestormalpha? cheese??? so summoning creatures to hold him back is cheese??? if you are implying i cheated well you are wrong. i have never altered any files or my character in any way. if you mean something else then could you explain what you mean by cheese?

Cheese doesn't necesarily mean cheating. Afterall, there is a certain item in BG2 known as the cloak of cheese. It is not a cheat because it is perfectly acquireable through normal means in the game. Cheese is used to refer to cheesy tactics or items that make battles painfully easier. Holding major enemies at bay with summons is just one form of cheese. There is the potential for a decent debate over whether such tactics are just intelligently implimented plans or exploitations of the games poor AI. I personally if I were the DM of this adventure would have had Saervok (the immensly powerful person he is supposed to be) fling the summons to either side and go straight for the protagonist.

Oh yeah, no need to through a fit. My comment was meant in jest.

no problem firestormalpha, i was just wondering what is considered cheese. i personally play by the motto: fight smarter, not harder. i do agree though, serevok should have been able to just tear through the weak summoned creatures.

a little off topic but i had read somewhere that you can loot serevoks body after you defeat him. this was not possible for me. as soon as he fell in battle i had no more control over the game. i had to click continue on the dialogue box and then the movie sequence started. any ideas?

Not sure about the looting thing, but it doesn't matter that much since most of what you have is no longer with you in BG2, for reasons that are of spoiler nature.

My definition of cheese is "any tactic that takes advantage of the game's limitations or poor AI," such as A) Abusing the fact that your party members are the only people on the planet who can open and close doors, or B) Realizing that enemies are always scripted to attack the enemies nearest to them, meaning they're dumb enough to attack the critters, instead of killing the spellcaster who's summoning the critters.

Cheese is also "any tactic that does not give enemies a fighting chance." In BG2, your Thieves (and high-level Bards) can set their own Traps on the floor, which will harm any enemy that gets too close. If you know where a particularly dangerous enemy is going to appear, you can simply set a big stack of Traps near that spot, so when the bad guy appears, BAM, dead. Where's the challenge?

"Munchkin" is slightly different. Being munchkin is not settling for the very best of the best of the best--why should you be satisfied killing Ogres with anything less than a Hackmaster +12? Weaker swords are for wimps, right?

Well if you have TotSC addon you should be able to loot him and contniue on your journeys. If you have plain BG however the game is over. Why would you want to loot him. To be better equipped for the end-movie???

P.S.: You can of course loot him if you beat him before his goons and then use his equipment against them.

Congratulations on your victory!

Did you do the TotSC part too?

I'm also planning to be moving on to BG2. I still find BG1 + TotSC + DSotSC exiting though
