1. got neverwinter nights like most things in life find it has its good and bad points...one of them i'm not sure if this is bad or good is that i've started the game a few of times get so far through then come up with completely diff character in my mind get excited about this and start over...begining to think i will never get to the end....Seen a few people complaining about the choice of abilities...personally i think its great....gives the chance for you to make some great characters...think its good for both roleplayers and powergamers....athough i'm not sure what they are if some one could please tell me?
2. Playing online....never done this bfore with a rpg played halflife a few times hated it kept getting my ass killed v quickly...is it any good? Also i am quite new to the whole rpg thing played bg 1 and 2 thought both were great played gothic also was ok but the inventory just really ****ed me off...So if somone could tell me about the whole clan thing think i know what it is just need clarification....if its about a bunch of your mates geting together then i will explain about that in point three. 3. Ok here we go i will be thirty years old next year i recetly got married...i love pc games fantasy novels etc...my mates think the whole rpg thing is for sad people....So basically what i'm saying is it sad for a thirty year old man to be playing these games?....Or is sad the new cool?...anyway sorry for the size of the post oh yes monks in nwn rule try it you'll like it.......i guarantee it. |

G'day Elric, Welcome to IW
To give you a bit of a background, I am 23 years old and before Baldurs Gate came out I thought the exact same way as your mates... i.e. computer games are for geeks and losers ![]() One day I saw my brother (a geeky loser ![]() From there I've bought games from Half-Life to Quake3 to Operation Flashpoint to Ghost Recon. And I think that so long as you don't immerse your entire life into the game, you'll be a'ight So just make sure that you don't neglect reallife and I wouldn't consider you "sad" ![]() As for multi-player, I have played Half-Life and Quake3 online extensively (I'm not very good though ) but have never tried RPGs online. I am looking forward to trying it out on NWN with some people from this forum. I'll let you know how it goes ![]() I'm thinking of going a monk next time, are you a human or something else?

I don't know, my mum always tells me that computer games are for small children only and those that are still playing computer games after reaching teen or adult are those that still haven't grown up yet and will get in trouble in later life.
yeah I know this is makes everybody angry but what to do? she's my mum. ![]() |

Nothing sad about interactive entertainment!! I'd rather spend 3 or 4 hrs playing a good rpg than watch an evening of tv.!!And I'm only 55 yrs old been playing rpgs for close to 20 yrs!!But you do need to get outside for a bike ride or a run once and awhile...

Everyone has their own vices and ways of entertaining themselves. Computer RPG's is probably one of the safest ones there is.
Especially considering the number of people that spend 6 hours a day watching TV, yet that is perfectly acceptable. In time, so will our hobby... |

Lady Z I agree with you entirely.
I am 45 and a female. I am certainly not going to turn into some fuddy duddy because that's what people expect. I have played computer games for about 6-7 years now, Doom started me off and when I discovered Diablo and Diablo II, I was in seventh heaven, just the type of game I liked. I could use my mouse - no keyboard commands and getting killed while I remembered the keys for me.... Then I tried BG and BGII, I was well and truly hooked. After that the rest is history. I have digital Sky TV and it sucks. Most of the programmes on insult a child's intelligence, let alone an adults'. My mates at work think I am odd (maybe eccentric) because I play RPGs. I have come across a couple of men who play PS2. And one bloke actually plays flight sims - yuk. But no females. My boyfriend on the other hand, respects that I play RPGs, only he doesn't like them, he thinks they're boring, yet he is at this moment playing Final Fantasy X on the PS2. So we are a family of gamers, my stepson is a football game freak. My daughter has just bought herself a PS One, but has been really good about not playing it until she has finished college exams. Ah well, there you have it. I am off to play a bit more NWN, best game I have played so far. Lady Zidane
