I have killed all of the trolls and Yuan-tis in Nalia's fortress and after that I accepted to become dame instead of her. My question is since the majordomo told me that I can raise taxes. Is it worth doing this? I mean in the journal it says that it might get the peasants angry at me. Thanks for help in advance.

Well, what do you want to do? You can be evil and gain more money but get angry peasants, but you can also play nice and don't get problems from the peasants. You get enough money already, so it's not really necessary to raise taxes.

Logically speaking, what do you think?

if memory serves, depending on your actions throughout your tenure at the keep, the peasants have a 'revolt rating' which without spoiling you can perhaps complicate things later on. i wouldn't worry too much though, think you have to be pretty bad to really annoy them.

It's kind of pointless to raise taxes. Considering hte amount you raise doing other quests, the money you get from the keep is just a drop in the bucket (heck, I have a hard enough time even finishing all the Keep quests before finishing the game; I usually have to rest a bunch of times because it progresses so slowly).

I'll rephrase my question then, if I did not do anything to make the peasants angry how high can I raise the taxes? (before they become angry)

I wasn't aware there was a certain scale on 'how much' you want to raise it, you just do. If you do it but make decent decisions through out the rest of the game, you'll probably have an angry villager come in anyway.

I tried to raise the taxes... I'm not sure if this is right but I got this:

Major Domo gave me 1000 gold on the spot.

And 500 gold was still deposited each month. So raising the taxes if Nalia's is the first quest you do is an Ok idea. It gives you 1k extra cash on top of what you sell from the keep.

But it doesn't permanently raise the taxes in the keep.. that was my personal experience...

anyway.. it's your choice.

There's a Global Modifier set... Each time you something to anger the peasants (raise taxes, execute people), the number goes up. Now, I'm not sure when the number reaches the breaking point, but I do believe you can raise taxes at *least* five times.... MAYBE ten. I don't remember.
