Allright we all know what's up with the Mordenkein's Sword... but is it in a specific location?

All I know is that Ghouls, Kuo-Toas, Skeleton Warriors and such may eventually drop one when you beat them... but is there a fixed place? Like a store or anything?

Damn I need it... (well you know what I need)

Um, a Mordenkein's Sword is obtained through a mage summon spell, and you never actually wield it. The wizard instead commands it where to go (in other words, you control it)

There are atleast 2 shops in Waukeen's Promenade that stock it, aswell as other possibilities all through Athkatla, Trademeet, and Immesvale. You could also go grave robbing, and you might get lucky. There are merchants in Chapter 5 who probably have it - both in the cities, and near your starting point. It may be available in Chapter 4 aswell.

Ah, you were looking for the scroll for it. Sorry, I thought that you were looking for a weapon that you can give to one of your characters to wield, and it just completely threw me off

You can buy one in Chapter 5, but there's a trick. See this link for details:

Near the beggining of the Underdark. You go on for a bit across a bridge, then south. You will have the option to then go up some stairs. Take them. You will end up in a room with two beholders, kill them and carry on a bit down this windy road (not far) to see four Drow fighting a Beholder. If you press to highlight places of interest, you will notice a hole in the wall. Raid it. You have now got the spell .

Hope this is of some help; but if you are not in the Underdark yet too bad sorry!

EDIT) Im not saying that there is nowhere else to find it; only i dont know of any off the top of my head

In my experience, Mordenkainen's can only be reliably obtained in stores: Sure, there are lots of other places in which it can be found as random loot, but since they're random, they aren't reliable. The locations offered by Dundee and drew_jarvie are both random (at least in my game).
