Help vs Kuroisan (Acid Kensai, Tactics Mod)

Viconia level 12
Blade level 12 (not using spells).

Kuroisan appears as soon as I rest, and promptly annihalates me... any advice ??

I just used Animate Dead and Wand of Summoning. They tend wear down his Stoneskins quick which is a great boon to you.

Course my party was 15th ish level, but you get the idea.

He`s part of the Tactics mod... the "Acid Kensai" component (he`s the one with Sanchuudoku )

Well .. a sorta cheesy thing you could try is make Kelsey invisble while your blade chucks a potion of haste and tries to stay alive .. have viconia pelt him with normal sling bullets and summons. Now get kelsey to wait untill Kuriosan's fire/cold protections have worn out ( is he has any, and that includes fireshields ) and then have kelsey read the 3 scrolls you bought ( Fireshield: red, Fireshield: blue, Protection from Acid ). These should be attainable fairly cheap and simple,.. I think the adventurers mart offers all three.

Newayz, after you did that, throw up a stoneskin/ Mirror Image and have Kuriosan hit you .. that's all it takes, 1 or 2 hits ( if it works ).

Offcourse this tactic has some drawbacks. Kelsey might have to go indoors for casting to not attract cowles. You'll have to stay alive relatively long. And I'm assuming you still have a previous save right before which buys you enough time to aquire all the items I mentioned.

NOTE: Explanation:
Once his fire/cold protection wears out and -you- are protected from acid,.. Sanchuudoku will become Kuriosan's own worst enemy. If you put up a fireshield around kelsey ( and make sure he wont be hurt while hit ) .. and Kelsey hits kuriosan or kuriosan hits kelsey, Kuriosan will receive damage. This damage triggers his acidic Backlash, which in turn will trigger Kelsey's fireshield again, triggering another backlash, triggering the fireshield .. etc.

However, you're protected from his damage ( acid ) and he's not from yours [img]smile.gif[/img]

Still kinda of an out-of-the-way tactic, but it's fun

I have *time* to do that, yes, but in getting Kelsey the Robe of Vecna, I only have 120 gold left...

EDIT: Ok, Kelsey has Fireshield and Stoneskin already... I think Mirror Image, too... so all I need a scroll of is Pro-Acid... might try shoplifting Lady Yuth.... wish me luck [img]smile.gif[/img]

OK, I managed to steal Stoneskin, Mirror Image, and Pro-Acid from Lady Yuth... now, where can I steal a scroll of either Pro-Magic Weapons or Fireshield: Either ??

You have to cast stoneskin and mirror Image from a scroll ?
What spell selection does Kelsey have then ?

You might wanna try the merchant above the Den of seven Vales,.. he might have them. Or else the thief in the thief-compound ( Aran linvail's building )..
I'm not sure they have the scrolls though

A more general advice .. the key to Kuriosan is usually non-enchanted weapons.
He likes to cast PfMW, so the only way of hurting him and eating away his stoneksin is usually normal weapons.

Have one man act as a decoy,.. while the others use summons and pelt him with ranged weapons.

Also ( if you havent already ) use the search-function : quite a lot of posts with tips you might be able to use.

Don`t *have* to cast them from scrolls... well Mirror Image I do, but not Stoneskin...
It`s just that he has so few spells at this level that I`d rather not have them disrupted.
