I have just bought a cheap copy of Throne of Bhaal to find out what all the jazz is about and I think I remember that there is a definite procedure to follow when installing ToB when SoA is already installed with a bunch of mods. I have read the Newcomers Message and have both the official and Baldurdash patches. Will it affect my savegames? (They are all done using mods).

Your savegames will still work. Just uninstall any Weidu mods you have,Install TOB, the Official TOB patch, Baldurdash TOB patch, reinstall all your mods. If you load a savegame before all your old mods are reinstalled, it might cause some trouble if you had new content, but once the mods are reinstalled, there will be no problems.
Make a backup of your savegames before doing all that, so you will be 100% safe.
