1.- Does anyone know who is Joseph ?? I have 'Josephīs greenstone ring'. I think I found it in Nashkell mines or the South-eastern map (where you exit Nashkell Mines).

2.- What happens if you talk to the surgeon after killing Davaeorn ??

3.- Iīve read some discussions about the ring of invisibility, and maybe it depends on the version but mine has MORE than ONE charge.

4.- Iīve been told that hidden in Nashkell there is the BEST SWORD of the game. The one who told me says that he has read it in a BG book or something like that. Is this true ??

Thanks !!

1. Joseph is the dead husband of a lady in Nashkel. You can find her in a small cottage in the southern part of the map. You'll have to break the door in order to talk to her. You'll get a little XP for returning the Ring.

2. You mean the surgeon in the Sirine map? I don't know of any connection between him and Daveaorn.

3. Mine had more then just one charge, but still it hadn't much. I think this item is a complete waste of gold. If you need invisibility that bad, just use Stealth or the Mage spell - that would be more then enough.

4. That's complete crap. Perhaps the guy who told you was talking about the novell on BG. In the game, there are no great swords to have in Nashkel. The only thing I can think of, is that when you return Brage to the Temple of Helm (alive), you'll get his Twohander +3 of cursed Berserking. This weapon is the most powerful sword in BG (without TotSC), in damage dealing matters, but because it's cursed, it's rather useless.

Yeah, I figured that the sword thing was false. What do you mean about the Novel ?? Is there a BG novel ??

About the surgeon, heīs Davaeornīs brother. If you ask him why wants to heal you, he says that he had to kill his brother but he didnīt dare, so now he has to pay for it. But anyway in the new game Iīm playing Iīve killed Davaeorn before talking to him andhe stills says the same.

And does Balaīs axe have the Dispell ability ?? The story says it can dispell once everyday but the stats only talk about miscast.

THANKS !!

Pete, I dont think Brage's cursed sword of berzerking is the strongest greatsword in the game. What about this sword you find in the chess game of Durlag's Tower ?? Worlds Edge ??
It's as strong as brage's sword, but it doesnt have the forced berzerk thing added.

Yes, there should be a novel on BG, as well as on Planescape. I never had the chance to get my hands on it, but I know they should be there somewhere. The quality of the story is rather doubtful from what I've heard though.

As for Bala's Axe, it only has the miscast magic ability, not the dispel magic one. That would be useful though. I never use that Axe myself however. I never use the miscast magic spell either as a matter of fact (not nescesarry, because of lots of ranged attack).

Yeah, I knew a time when ranged weapons were cool...
Now i donīt use them cause it sucks to carry lots of arrows and bolts and bullet. I have started a MP game, I have recently killed Mulahey and Iīm with:

Fighter with Varscona and full plate
Fighter-thief with short sword +2 and shadow armor
Fighter-mage with long sword+1 and... knaveīs robe (still havenīt money for archmage)

I only use 3 characters cause Iīm starting to find teh game easy (sorry, but itīs true) since I completed it only with my cleric-illusionist (though I removed the xp cap). By the way, although I removed the xp cap for this character, he doesnt shoot 2 arrows of fire (and heīs level 11) !!! But I havenīt finished with the cleric-illusionist, I still have to do the werewolves island (and I think I wonīt be able to do it, because of these loup garou).

You should play the game with a solo Gnome Illusionist/Thief once, it's fun! I've did it once (though not completely, because of the IWD release). I will finish the rest of the game soon I think, including Werewolf Island - I can use Stealth + Backstab, so no problemo (if so, I might still use Mirror Image to make it to safety again).

PS, this board is freaking slow today!

I don't know if this is your problem, but when you use the flame arrow spell in IWD and you're lvl 10+ you just shoot 1 arrow on the screen but in the dialog window you make damadge for several.

I havenīt looked close to the box, so maybe youīre right Yanor. Thanks !!

Peter (I hope you donīt mind if I call you like this) you started the game with the illu/thief alone ?? I first played with a party till i was level 3-4 in each class (illusionist-mage) and then started again myself. I think it would be VERY hard to start with 0 xp and only one char.

BTW, to follow with the 'little questions', is there any point to the drunk in the Splurging sturgeon (or however it is said)?? And to the closed chest in the upper floor ?? If I try to pick it it says that it may be warded against simple spells (as if I needed a key).

THANKS TO ALL !!!
