I got a problem (solved w/o any problem, whew!) in winXp when I tried to create a dual winXP system. My second WinXp installation setup failed leaving me with a dual booting options of my WinXp and the failed winXP Setup.
Searching the Net, I was able to find this website which I hope you people may find useful. After reading this, I was able to remove the Dual XP Setup option and yet retain my WinXP normal booting. Be sure to analyse the examples given though. Else you wont be able to boot at all. link: http://vlaurie.com/computers2/Articles/bootini.htm#edit Oh yes, now that I was able to remove the dual option, I am looking for help to remove the files the second failed installation. Where did those files go? lol.

You know what? I was just going to post a Q about that...
![]() As for the files, I believe there's a hidden folder somewhere...I've never really had to look for 'em, as I usually create a partition for an o/s install and delete it when I no longer need it. I've been pulling my hair out lately, trying to figure out how to install XP on a RAID-0 system, and I now have a triple boot menu.... Incidentally, the solution is to create a driver floppy from the mobo CD. Event though the copy of XP I'm using is SP1, apparently it patches to SP1 after installation. The Windows XP files should be on a different (and newly formatted) partition. Just reformat the partition. I'm curious as to why this didn't work, however, as I have personally been able to dual-boot Windows XP and Windows XP.

My new formatted partition is totally empty. The Installation setup was installed somewhere else (although I suspect I know what folder it is, I do not want to risk it) .. and its just 6mb when I checked
