Apart from not automatically downloading spyware/adware/trojans/virii embedded in webpages you mean?

Edit: Tabs allow you to view multiple web pages in a single browser window. It's much quicker to change around and saves memory as well. Rather than having to move the mouse to the taskbar and click to change page, just hit '1' or '2' in Opera to cycle forward or back or see them all displayed at the top of the screen. I presume Firefox has similar behaviour.

Edit2: You have to pay $15 for the privelage??

Doesn't really affect me, I never use them anyways. They usually become more of a nuisance to me, since I always hit some button and click on a link, opening a new tab that I wanted in that same page. IE is still stuck in the stone age compared to Firefox though.

So, Jarrad, what happened to the regular updates, caring dev team, cross-platformness, extensibility (read: Ad blocking), adherance to web standards, keyword searches, the searchbox, non-modal find, and a whole host of other things that IE doesn't have but Firefox and Opera both do? I've asked you once before what IE has over Firefox or Opera, and you couldn't answer then - I wonder can you now?

Firefox's design actually doesn't save any more memory on tabs than windows - a new Firefox window doesn't spawn a new instance of it either.

Ctrl - Tab to move right through them, Ctrl - Shift - Tab to move left, Alt + [1 - 9] to go to that tab. Some extensions also change the Ctrl - Tab behavior to go through tabs in the order you've looked at them, rather than the order they appear on screen (eg, Focus Last Select Tab).

Perhaps the adherance to web standards is the most important one for me. Being a website developer the number of curse words I continually have to scream at IE for not rendering CSS properly is depressing! Opera, Mozilla, Safari etc all wipe the floor with IE when it comes to standards. Having to constantly use nasty hacks to achieve the correct result from an impeccable style sheet is enough to drive me insane.

The extensions also rock - most notably the web developers tool bar. Disabling styles, validating html and css at the click of a button, outlining elements etc - the list goes on.

Anyway lets not turn this into an IE vs the world thread, but tabbed browsing is only the mint sauce on the slow roasted lamb shank for Firefox .

Hehe, Hivetyrant, sorry buddy, but you're really making yourself out to look ignorant here...aside from Lennon said, IE doesn't have mouse gestures (my fav feature), or built in email, or the webmaster mode etc. etc. etc. no competition
