I read through the readme for the Baldurdash Fixpack, and found out that the beloved tactic of using Cloudkill from wands is BUGGY in that it bypasses the targets' magic resistance which it should not.
The Fixpack fixes this, so the next time you see somebody talk about using Cloudkill on Mind Flayers( who are highly magic resistant) as a viable tactic. They have buggy games. It ain't even a cheese, it is a bug. ![]() |

It's not like the Wands of Cloudkill are that common anyway. The most wands that I find dropped by enemies and such are usually either Wands of Magic Missiles or Wands of Lightning.. I mean, you can get a Wand of Cloudkill in Irenicus's dungeon and a few at Trademeet, but that's all that I remember..

Use Mordenkainen's Swords and hear the beautiful screams of the Illithid as they fall, one by one. Alternatively, you can summon five Skeleton Warriors, Haste them and send them charging in to make sushi. Remember to support them with range weaponary! Potions of Clarity and/or Chaotic Commands will protect your party members. Mordenkainen's Swords and Skeleton Warriors are immuned to Psionics, because as another boardie once chanted,
"They have no brains! They have no brains!" ![]() |

FelixJaegar if your protected from evil a gated demon wont't attack you but will only attack your enemies. This spell is considered a last resort sort of spell though.
Just for the record here's the location of a few more wands of cloudkill: 1)On body of lich in gate district in crooked crane-an easy one to get just cast a protection from undead scroll on a fighter and send them in to kill the lich. 2)In the lair of Mekrath in the temple district sewers.

As for Demons, cast Protection from Evil on yourself first( so that they ignore you), then unleash them on your enemies. |

Personally, I don't mind the Wands bypassing MR--When I get my computer back, I'll download the patches, sure, but I just don't see how Magic Resistance is supposed to help someone not mind the insides of their lungs being boiled away by caustic fumes. High-level Monks can get 100% Magic Resistance too, does this mean that they can breathe in outer space?
