I have this project at school, about films/movies in the 70's. And my task is to write a rough timeline about that decade's most important films. But the problem is, I can't seem to find or separate the "popular" ones from the less important. So I guess I'm asking you who actually lived in the 70's to help me with this task, to name some popular films from the 70's, and say a bit about them. Not much, just who made it, and what category it belongs to (action, comedy, etc).
Anyone willing to help a stupid boy who've put this off to the last moment? Everything will be greatly appreciated.

An important 70's Film = The Exorcist.

It's a trick assignment. They didn't have movies in the 70's. Duh.

How about Kramer vs Kramer? I would also suggest you look into One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
