Grr! My first off pissing AD&D experience..

Today, i went to play AD&D again. We were traveling to a city. Suddenly, through a random encounter, we met a Chimeria with our level 2-4 party(being a drow mage i was only lvl 2). The big fat freakish bastard used his flaming breath on me. I failed my save and received 17 damage which, of course, killed my mage. Another party member died too but the party overall won and all the alive people got 5000 exp(which was divided). I then made a new character who`s stats were pretty low. Then i rolled again to get better stats but instead, i got even lower! Because i got soooo low stats, i made a deal with the DM: My character(who had something like 2400 exp) loses all his exp and in exchange, i get to roll my stats again. I rolled and got worse stats than the first ones but better than second.
The one big off pissing thing is that before my char died, he had THE BEST STATS IN THE PARTY!!!! they were like 18 int, 20 dex(i was VERY MUCH looking forward to using the skill Gem Cutting) 14 wis 13 con and 10 char. then, instead i got lousy stats and 0 exp!

bwaahhahahaha!! that's the funniest thing I've heard all night. Bit mean chucking a Chimera at low level characters, how many were in your party?

Deathbringer, i hope /)eathKiller will come and kill you very slowly and painfully . There were five of us: A mage(thats me), 2 rangers, a thief and a druid. I hate the fact that druids and clerics get lotssa exp because of Cure Light Wounds and stuff. My mage ALWAYS gets the least experience.
Today, we played AD&D again. It wasn`t that bad this time. i made an Invoker. My Invoker has 4841 exp which means that ill get to level 3 soon(lvl 3 great advantages: extra 1d4 +2 HPs, Magic Missile 2X dmg, ability to cast a 2nd lvl spell, which will be Invisibility ) .

I think perhaps DMs should be a bit flexible and not stick too hard to the rules. Thus if your character was supposed to get killed, maybe the DM should consider some 'way out' for the character.

Maybe your cheapskate party members should have you resurected, or as my Dm does, if your character is killed and you absolutely have to have that particular character he lets you keep it with NONE of the items,1 level stripped and you have to pick a new name. Also there is none of that makeing a bid for your items back by pulling the "my new character is my old characters brother/sister/uncle/cousin{" crap!!

nah, i think rules are rules. If i would`ve got a "way out" then it wouldve made me feel like AD&D isnt dangerous and strict [img]smile.gif[/img]

dude your DM doesnt allow Resurection through Necromancy?

geez well then I'm glad i play a necromancer, if i roll above a 10 and cast unfailing endurance i can't die but have to lay there as a conceouse courpse with 1 HP until a healing spell is cast

Me and the other party members are all beginners in playing A&D and those idiots forgot to loot me and my other dead companion(hehe, i did notice that but didnt mention it )!
My DM makes it so that when you die and can`t get ressurected, then you get the same character, NO items, EXP divided by 2.
Doesn`t ressurect cost 30000 or something? At least, that`s what i heard.
oh, and my bastardly party mates are cheapskates. When we went to a troll cave, i didn`t go inside because it was dark and i was the only human in the party. The rest of the party went inside, killed the 3 trolls there were, then found something like 2560 Gold Pieces!! The bastards gave me only 100 of it because my char didn`t know there was more gold. one question: should i demand the gold i was supposed to get because all of them were Good aligned except one who was True Neutural. I mean, Good aligned guys arent supposed to do such an act!
