Ok, So for the last few weeks I've been editting a video for a presentation (a mujahideen recruitment video to be precise), now I've gotten it to the point where it's ready, but I need to insert it into powerpoint, and give the person giving the lecture the ability to pause the video to discuss certain portions of it. Is there any way in powerpoint 2003 (or 2k) to pause a video and resume play where it left off, everything I've tried so far has resulted in restarting the video from the beginning (with a ten minute video during a noontime briefing that's not a luxury I can afford). The easiest answer of course is to use windows media player to play the file and pause at will, but the clients specifications were for powerpoint. Any suggestions?

I'd create a link to the video and have the actual video play in Windows Media Player.
I like Powerpoint to set the flow of my presentations, but I find I often link to other applications that may be better at some particular aspect of it. |

I am pretty sure you could use macros and VBA to do this. I have not used VBA on PowerPoint. Only Word, Excel, and Access. If you have any Visual Basic knowledge it is just a matter of figuring out the classes, properties, and methods that the application uses. Suffice to say it allows you to do some amazing stuff with Microsoft's applications.
Your probably looking for some option already built in as to building your own so I am probably not much help, just saying it is one option that could be available. [ 03-22-2005, 04:35 PM: Message edited by: pritchke ] |
