YES!!
Definitely get this game, and the expansion too. I prefer it in some ways to BGII: It sets the scene for BGII, the beginning of the story There are more NPCs (although less NPC interaction - no romances) You get to see your character develop from a lvl 1 weakling! There are more areas to explore, lots of open countryside with monsters and quests The story is more engaging Plenty of dungeons (esp. with TOTSC installed) More difficult (IMHO) - monsters on a map respawn every time you reload to discourage reloading constantly The only real disadvantage is that you cannot play it at higher resolution with drop away toolbars, but this is not a real problem, just eyecandy! There are also no kits (apart from specialist mages), so you have to pick straight fighter/thief/ranger/paladin/bard/druid/cleric/mage But definitely get this game! Go NOW! Buy it, buy it, buy it... ------------------ ![]() Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so. Epona of The Laughing Hyenas |

BGI is definitely worth it. Even if you have already played BGII all the way through I would recommend getting the first. With it you can learn more about the background of your character and get more of a sense of continuity if you decide to go back to BGII, since you will startfrom level one and carry over what you know from the previous game. In short, getting BGII without playing BGI first is like watching a sequel to a movie without seeing the original. Many things are lost...

I agree with what everyone so far has said. I have the game and the expansion, and they have a massive play-time. Get this game + expansion.
