Serious Question

Is there any serious pro/con's in the game by being or not a Dunmer? Not looking for a spoiler but I am wondering if I would get some of the same "people" stopping me if I was not a Dunmer?

I think more people will like you if you are a dunmer because 99 percent of the population are dunmer

it's the total opposite, the dunmer will hate you for being a dunmer who is an outsider. dunmer hates other races too because they consider them as outsider too.

Haven't got a clue, i've played the game twice, both times as a Redguard. So i'm kinda used to racist comments from most people i encounter.

I was talking more about main quest stuff without trying to get too specific.

Spoiler kinda

The thing with bring the Dunmer back to glory. Since I am not too far in the game I don't know all the details. I just think it would be hard for a non-dunmer to bring the "true" dunmer back to glory. It might not be possible but was just a guess.

there's no stopping you for being another race. you can still complete the main quest no matter which race you choose.

THe only advantage I have had from playing a Dunmer is that I have always found more grand soul gems with thoose characters then any other, regardless of my luck score..

Personally I just love this comment "Seen any elves?"

Yepp I either favor Nords or the wood elves

Dunmer make about 50% of the population, other races are in crudely equal proportions.

im afraid there arent' many high elves though, the second most would be imperials or bretons

What matters is really not the race, but the fact that you are an outlander... and you can't avoid being an outlander.
