What is the difference between different kinds of arrows and bolts? I assume that silver ones can hurt Bonelords and such.
What is the difference between bows and crossbows? Bows have 1-15 or 1-30 damage, and xbows 15-15 and 30-30 IIRC. Is that all?
And I've found only Steel and Dwemer Crossbow. And only Chitin and Long Bow (I don't count throwing stars). Is there more?

Well honestly I don't think that the different kinds of arrows do any more damage than another. I think damage is dependent on the bow. The better arrows might make you a bit more accurate but I am unsure. The better arrows are also better for enchanting.

As far as bows vs. crossbows: Crossbows can take a little longer to load but always do the same damage. A bow you can pull back and if it is pulled back all the way it will do max damage.

In the long run there are better bows out there. I think the Daedric one is 1-50 damage. Also try the bound bow it rocks too, if only for a short time.

There is a difference. Bow damage depends how how long you pull the string. as a daedric bow have 1 - 50 damage. short pull may let you have small damage while long pull may let you have strong damage.

Crossbows on the other hand at a fix type of damage. dwarven crossbow deals 30 -30 damage. as you can see, the damage is fix no matter how long you pull it back.

Arrows DO affect damage. If you are on PC you can take a turn by the construction set - there you can see arrows damage.

Or, if you don't want to look up in tes, just count how many arrows it takes to bring down a golden saint if you use iron or silver (or better. You will immediately notice the difference.

I found the Daedric longbow in a Daedric shrine directly west of Maar Gan across the mountains. You need to levitate to get to it. The best levitating item is the boots of the apostle, located underneath Berandus (SE of Gnisis).

Enchanting arrows one by one is tedious and costly. The only option is to buy them... don't steal them, otherwise the trader won't produce them anymore.

here's something that not many people know. if you bow is so cheap that it cannot kill ghost, daedras, bonelord etc because it cannot effect them. just enchant the bows so that your bows can start doing damage on them.
