What has happened to Wiz8

Well, i see few posts everyday, compared to other forums. At first it was very popular, but now, even the main website is a ghost town. Can someone tell me what happened. I really like this game, but other games are tying me up. But seriously, Wiz8 seems like it is dying.

The game's been out for a while, people are moving on to new (though not necessarily better) things.

Plus school has started so it's interfering with gaming time for some people.

Yeah, exactly: if it weren't for those happy few just finding the game for the first time, there really wouldn't be anything to talk about here-- once you have finished it the umpteenth time, not much left to discuss...

It's like all games. When it's new, everyone's talking about it, asking people how to get passed this or that, making suggestions for parties, talking about what they like or don't like, etc...

But as stated, Wizardry 8 has been out for awhile. Most have completed it by now. So they have moved on to other games.

I am still playing it myself. And still having a VERY good time with it. But I will probably be wrapping it up soon and finishing it (I originally wanted to get all my characters to level 50, which is apparently the max, but the experience is just getting to be too low, and the requirements for the next level too much). So I will probably finish with the Umpani and T'Rang, and go after the Dark Savant and finally finish up the game.

It will go down as one of my favorite games, ever - right there with the REALMS OF ARKANIA trilogy (it will be difficult to ever beat STAR TRAIL from the ROA Trilogy, which I think is so far the BEST CRPG game ever created) [img]smile.gif[/img]

I have no played BG1 or BG2, because I am not a fan of being handed a character to play. I much prefer the games where you can customize characters (race, class, name, stats, etc) right from the start.

Well, I guess you'd like playing IWD, cuz you can customize everything. Anyway, i understand what you are saying, but really, SoA gets plenty of posts a day, not sure about ToB though. But anyways, it just seems to be dying. But I really hope someone makes an expansion. I heard that someone bought the company to make another game. I had a news article saved somewhere too. Is this true or not.

hmm. i really don't know about that, haven't seen more than speculation about it. i'm sure linda would make an announcement if it were true. i mean, the company was her little baby. [img]smile.gif[/img]

i have heard that some fan expansions are being made also. [img]smile.gif[/img] but they are brand new. also, if you play NWN, there is a group adapting W8 to a mod for that. seems to be going well, also. i think they are planning on releasing separate mods for each town and area. that way it can be released in Chapters. nice idea, i thot. i'm not sure how the party play to single play will go, but if it keeps the fun flava, i'm all for it. [img]smile.gif[/img]

its coming up on one year now! the demo was out this time last year, or right around halloween! i remember jumping a few feet in the air on Halloween night, after running into Saffy the first time!! [img]smile.gif[/img]

i'm replaying it, so maybe others will whip it out, too and give it another run thru!
