Could someone give me some tips for beating up Nessie??

My party is about Level 14 - do i even have a chance of killing her?

I do not even reach the beast without loosing one party member!

Are there any effective spells??

Heal all, rest all, element shield, soul shield, armormelt, guardian angel, summon elementals, body of stone, superman and bless. And use melee. Level 14 is doable, but a little hard. Come back at level 16-17, and you will beat it easily.

You can get to Nessie in the first round, by standing behind a rock, then click combat mode, and run up to Nessie in combat mode.

emmm..nessy is quite hard even if you have those spells, do you have the right weapon to fight nessy? weapons like lightsword , fang , excalibur all do lotsa damage. you might want to skip nessy first if you don't have high damage weapon.

I killed her twice with level 13 parties. Was no problem at all.

I used the first round of combat to run away from her, back into a tunnel. Then stand a few steps from the entrance, so nessie can't melee. And then just shoot her. I used guardian angel for my spellcasters, but it wasn't necessary - her range attack was way too weak to kill in one attack. I just had to cast (play) heal all every 3 rounds.
The fight took very long in real time. Only ~12 rounds of combat, but the missiles travelled very slow in that encounter.

Be sure to have magic screen up, and you shouldn't loose a character in one round.

Here's how I do it-round one-cast your buffs-especially element shield (cuz you should already have magic screen). I also threw a couple of canned elementals. It took me two rounds to run up to her-usually needed a heal by that time, so use either an instrument or an amulet or a spell to heal all, and cast armormelt. She's really not that tough at melee, and you don't need a huge weapon. I did it with my best weapons as demonsting and bloodlust.

I like to use a bunch of canned elementals on her as a melee buffer; try to engage her from a fair distance away to gain surprise, summon a batch of elementals and buff in the free round, round get closer to her but stay behind your elementals. Then cast armormelt on her and haste/bless which will also effect your elementals. Just heal from any damage she does with spells (having eye for an eye up, and elemental shield/soul shield too are great) and pick her off with melee weapons while your elementals take whacks at her.

If you have Chameleon and good Stealth, you can sneak past her to see if you get the good sword there, to then smear her with.
I have done a Missile approach similar to Wereboar's description many times, it's one of my faves; a few 3X-xbows with Hunter Quarrels does the job neatly. Just be liberal with the buffs and Guardian Angels.

Nessie kicked my butt at level 14 also. I just went and did more quests--the retro dungeons, the mountain and southeast wildernesses. If you can handle the sorceress fight, you're ready for Nessie. I dealt with her at level 17--just had my defensive magic up and shot missile after missile. Two went down early to spells, one when Nessie had 100 HP left, but the rest survived.

I kicked her ass and i only needed about 1 hour! (I did not even loose 1 party member!!)

My Ranger & Valkyrie are good in melee! They are even better then my Lord! (cause i didn´t find a brilliant sword for him yet!)
