The only real thing that I don't like...With Bloodlust, I have a pretty darn good initiative (I'm still early in the game) with my samurai-one of the only ones higher than most of the monsters that I have come up against so far. I use his spells for long range, but being only level 8 or so, his magic is really limited, so when I'm out of spell points, I set him to attack, but with his initiative so high, he usually ends up defending, then the monsters come up to me and he is still defending while my other guys can still attack. I know that I can use the walk function, wait for them to come up, and then just not walk, or I could run up to them (at the risk of getting surrounded). I wish there was a "wait" function so that after a monster comes up to me, he could stop defending, even if it was at the expense of an attack or two rather than the whole attack.

Just my little newbie rant.

Here is a fun trick to let the monsters close the gap on you while not losing any initiative. After setting everyones actions set the group to run or walk. This will allow the monsters to 'move' first. Usually by the time the game gets around to letting your group move the monsters will be right on top of you. So all you have to do it just cancel the run action and attack away.

My samuri also knows the remove curse spell. He can use that after combat to swap out the bloodlust.

I have yet to figure out how he can use it to swap out bloodlust during combat though. It does not seem to work.
