Hi. By all accounts the ivory blade should be MUCH better than bloodlust. It's supposed to do twice as much damage. Anyway, my Lord was using Bloodlust for most of the game and could go beserk with it and attack 3 times doing avg. of 30-40dam per hit. With the ivory blade he attacks twice avg 40-50 per hit. Why doesn't he do more damage? My human fighter has the sword of four winds which has the same damage rating as the ivory blade and he hits avg 90 dam!!! What gives?

Being a lord you don't have the berzerk option.Only fighters can do so with any blade,Only a guess...John

Strength modifiers? It adds a percentage bonus to your total damage. I know my Fighter has a 98% bonus to damage while my Lord duals a 45% and 25% bonus.

My Lord beserked with Bloodlust. My fighter beserks with sword of 4 winds and hits for 90 dam each strike. Both have 100 str and powerstrike. I'll still check my lords damage percentage. Out of curiostity, I may just give the sword of 4 winds to my Lord and see if he does more damage with it. If so, he'll keep it and my fighter will use Fang. A 10% kill is NICE!

Xerin:
Bloodlust gives Beserk status: so its good for anyone not a fighter & sort of wasted when using it on a fighter. The differences between Bloodlust & Ivory Blade are there but you may not see them. Beserk status = lower chance To-Hit Ivory Blade doesnt have that effect & also doesnt have the Lower Chance to hit due to effect. Also Ivory Blade isnt Cursed so allows you to auto-switch between ranged & melee weapons where-as Bloodlust requires you to "cast" remove curse & manually switch between the ranged & Bloodlust. Pretty sure there were some other differences but i wouldnt worry about it too much since most of the "quested" armor/weapons suck compared to the stuff you can find.

It's really very simple: when a fighter (or someone with bloodlust) is berserk, they do an extra 1x damage on top of any strength modifiers. When your Lord gave up Bloodlust, he lost that extra 1x.
Like this: if with Bloodlust the damage rating is 10-40, then your Lord really does 20-80 in combat. If with Ivory Blade the damage is 10-40, then 10-40 is all he does (except against immobile opponents). |
