Does anyone have a link to a list of skills, what they are and what they do. The special ones, after you hit like 100str or dex.

Page 126 in the manual tells you what the skills do.
Strength = Power Strike Vitality = Iron Skin Piety = Iron Will Speed = Snakespeed Senses = Eagle Eye Dexterity = Reflextion Intelligence = Power Cast. Anyone who builds up a stat to 100 will get the skill, regardless of class. |

I'm working with a party of four, my Bard has really helped. She's lev 13, the rest have made it to 12 but with the Bard's instruments we have handled some very nasty beasties (Granite Golem and 9 flying serpents...big battle). I worked her up to 90+ intelligence (and high artifacts, dexterity). Are you saying I should go for the ring and get Power Cast for the Bard? She's not really a spell user, and the manual doesn't say this skill is great for a Gadgeteer or Bard. I suspect it is a *good* thing, though. Now trying to get the Bishop there (Poer Cast). She was a Priest, but except for healing, I recommend a Mage going to Bishop. You get Elemental Shield and Enchanted Blade, which she does not have yet.

quote: My Bishop at level 8 has Enchanted Blade. Not sure exactly when he got it, but a Bishop, carefully crafted, can be an Arch-Mage. Master of all 4 realms of magic.

Power Cast isn't necessary for a Bard, unless you plan on switching to a class that does magic later on. Then, of course, it would be very useful.
However, raising intelligence to very high levels also increases resistance to mental spells. For that matter, raising piety to high levels increases resistance to divine spells. |

Bard's and Gageters don't use man for casting spells. And power cast is for mana users. So absolutely no use.
I have one Bishop in my team and a Bard so skills like Communication, Artifacts and Mytology don't need any skill point when you level up. They will max by themself (excpet for communication). I'm a crazy guy and didn't specialize my bishop in a magical realm but in 3 magical classes. And I started to push the last (psionic) when one of the other was maxed (75). Now my bishop (level 23) has 93 to 100 in each realm, powercast at 86 or so and has 2 books open to level 7 spells and 2 to level 6. It will be pretty hard to have him learn them all since I need to level too much for that (I was imprudent to put too much low level spells out of the picks). But a Bard is a real good investment. He deal as much damage per round as my samurai (my only tank unit) with all his collection of instruments.

Nordoki - In my first party, I had both a Mage and Priest, switching the Mage to Bishop and Priest to Lord around Lev 6. In the second game, I have a party of 4: Dwarf Lord, Faerie Ninja, Hobbit Bard, and Human Priest. I must have let my finger wander off the script because I kept giving the Priest skills like piety and vitality on leveling. Around lev 8 I realized I didn't have the stats to switch to Bish! She finally made it around lev 11. I am pumping points into Wizardry and Alchemy (and Psionic)as quickly as I can (they are only at 12 or so) but she is still limited to Lev 2 spells in these areas. She's still very handy. The rest will come.
