I've just bought the first book in this series. can anyone comment on if it's any good? Also, does anyone know how many books their currently are in this series and what order they should be read in?

OK, Mechwarrior books!?
This kinda reminds me of StarCraft: Legacy of the Xel Naga and Unreal: Hard Crash.
How does it seem so far? Who wrote it?

I don;t think there is a real order to the books - well apart from one trilogy that is clearly marked (oh, and a prequel to the trilogy - nearly forgot that).

I have them in the follwoing order of release :

Ghost of War
A Call to Arms
The Ruins of Power
A Silence in the Heavens
Truth and Shadows
Service for the Dead

I still buy them for something to read, but they aren't anywhere near as good as the old days of Micheal Stackpole.

I've just finished the first book, Ghost War. I must say that I agree with Davros. There was only one Mech Battle in the entire book and the rest of the book had some very tenuous assumptions made by characters to try and keep the plot going and cover holes in the story up.

Don't think I'll be reading the rest of them.
