The 'cheese' at start of candlekeep

I heard a cheat somewhere but I can't properly remember it. It went something like: when you do the training in Candlekeep (combat), 5 people temporarily join your party to teach you the basis of fighting. Afterwards, you get teleported back outside. However, if you pause the game a split-second (all the time you get) before you are teleported, command your character to talk to one of the people who was in your party but now isn't (they leave after finishing combat), you are able to permanently have them in your party.

Whenever I try it, they just say stuff like "good luck" and "I might see you again on your quest".

Can someone please help me and tell me the proper cheat because I appear to have missed something out or done it incorrectly. Thanks.

I have some very faint memories of this. I suspect it was fixed in a patch, so if you want to do it, try running the out-of-the-box version without installing TotSC.

Alternately, there is a CLUA cheat that will let you recruit anyone (though if you do someone plot-critical the game might break) so you could recruit them that way.

Or you could use create a multiplayer game to duplicate those characters at game start, and then copy the save into the single player folder.

Look if you want the stuff those guys have then dont go outside just load all their stuff on you and export your character with all goodiez [img]smile.gif[/img]

TyranyuS It's a fun cheat, but it only works if you have an unpatched version of the game. It's also pointless, considering the fact that there are many simpler cheats that get you much more.
