Like Tyrion, I could start thinking of a "themed" party, but different.

Party:
Kagain
Montaron (Screw Xzar, kill him )
Quayle
Tiax
Yeslick

Any more suggestions? (I can't decide on main char )

Ah, a subject dear to my heart.

The guys here at Midget Gems love to go adventuring with our small friends, so many of our 'themed' games are based on midget parties. Just for the record Midget Gems was born out of experimenting with alternative NPC's. I had a saved game at the start of Chapter 5, so one day I kicked out all the original NPC's and brought in some new faces. (I can recommend doing this to anyone who wants to try out new ideas.) I recruited Tiax, Quayle and Alora, who became the original Midget Gems.

Having said that, my first real all midget party was for IWD because it is quite hard to find enough small people at the start of BG1 (and BG2 is even worse.) I have posted previously on my "Snow White and the five Midgets" party for BG1. To overcome the lack of small folk I used Xzar and Shar-Teel as honorary recruits in the early chapters. Swopping Xzar for Quayle was one of the (role-playing) highlights of the game. Another way to add to the available small folk, is to use Arkanis and Deder, both are very good NPCs if you know how to get them into your party. Then finally adding Dark Side introduces yet more adventurers who are short in stature, but big in spirit.

I actually find choosing a leader for a Midget party quite hard, because with so many multi-class characters most of the bases are already covered. Perhaps a Gnome Fighter/Mage might be good, you can never have too many Illusionists in a party of.

Ps. Remember, a Gnome is for life - not just for Christmas.

The problem with a short-folks-only party is that the only NPC Priests are Yeslick, Quayle and Tiax--all in the last third (or so) in the game, and I don't fancy playing through Chapters 1,2,3, and almost all of 4 without a Priest in the party. For this reason, a PC Priest would probably be the way to go.
