The monsters are still outside of town when I exit and I don't even get a chance to attack before I am burnt toast!
(This is further to my earlier thread)
I've got two of those crazy plants and Three Mucks to deal with. Can I get around them without a cheat (not that I even know of a cheat)

ooooo scary!!!!

Okay - you don't have a chance to attack -

Do you have a chance to run?? Can you run away from them and the town and lure them away from the gates??
Are you playing patched or unpatched??

If you are unpatched - there is a cheat that might help you buy the time to run away from them and get them to move away frmo the gates. This would be the hit point cheat - on the other side of Ishad N'ha cast TOUGHEN on your characters before entering the town. Those extra hit points from the toughen spell become your own. You could repeat this until your characters have enough hit points to withstand the initial attack from the Mantraps.

Hope that is of some help, Magnus - for you are surely between a Muck and a hard place.

(if you are playing a patched version, email me)

I don't have the toughen spell.
I've tried to run but I get killed or the system crashes. (I do have the patch) I'm up against 3 mucks and two plants. If I could get past them with Just one hero alive I think I could do it (survive that is).
The monsters on this side are too tough! I don't think it was well thought out..not unlike other aspects of the game!

You're in a tough situation, but I have a few ideas: you can check in the priest guild if they sell a spellbook with toughen. That way you could boost the hp of the character that can cast resurrect, so you can revive the dead party members once you've succeeded in running past them. When running: run as straight as possible, because you can't evade their poison clouds.
You might also try this: with a bit of athletics skill you can climb the city doors. (practice this at the other exit.) If you can climb over before you're dead you are in a safe spot. There you can try to get your party functional again, and start climbing the door again. As soon as you can see over the top try casting a fire spell, like firestorm, burning haze or flamedrop. Then drop back to safety. You probably can't prevent getting a poison cloud, but you might survive. Then boost the party to full again and try again. Note that you can also enter the city from that side, but leaving the city ends you up on the outside again. But it sure is a quick way to get your mana to full again.
This way might take a while, but it might beat starting all over again! (And don't forget to save regularly when you've successfully dealt some damage.)
God luck.

Success!!
I made it past them with only my Barbarian left! I did have two Life scrolls which I used on the monk and then ran all the way to the moat. I cast Rebirth from there.Only the Mucks followed me (3 of them) but I managed to take them out with spells. They did not have any problem following me into the water(which is something that came up earlier I think)? Thanks for the help..now I guess it's time to enter the Castle...think I'll look up some tips first though.
