Does anyone know what the spell globe of Darkness do, I mean should I cast it on my own party or the enemy? The description is not very descriptive, I mean is it suppose to make my members harder to hit, or blind the enemy, freak them out or what. Drizzit used it alot to freak people out by casting it on them, and the Drow usually cast it on themselves to cover themselves from bright lights or the sun if they ever venture out in the bright light but what is it's purpose in the game.

I did a little testing on my own party last night. It seems that it becomes more difficult to hit someone with arrows if they have a globe around. I should have tried shoting out of the globe as well. Although I am still not sure what else it can do.

I'm glad you did some experimenting with that spell, pritchke, as I was wondering that myself. Thanks for the information.

There are quite a few items only Bards can use in DSotSC I guess Bards are so weak in BG that they had to do something like "Deciver's Sword" THCO +5, +2 Dex among several other wonderful benifits. There is a ring that only a bard can wear called the "Travelling Ring" that is missing a stone has anyone every found out its purpose?

Oh and I had an encounter with Drizzit.

He is much more difficult to beat as he summons his pet panther whos name I am not going to attempt to spell. But the feline is way faster and tears party members limb from limb. Drizzit also starts casting Globe of darkness on everyone.

If you cast Globe of Darkness on a melee fighter he aparently can't hit anything even with swords from the inside. I guess he is surrunded in total darkness. I found this out up by the Gulliykin when an evil party jumped me and I thought I would be doomed. I had three of my guys fireing arrows to take out the cleric or mage and two of my guys were taking three of there fighters in melee, actually I had then running from them just to keep their three fighters distracted. The one Dwarf though which I remember being a fairly decent fighter comes into melee with the archers. I use my mage to cast globe of darkness on him and he can't hit squat with his very decent ax. I can't hit him in the globe of darkness with arrows so I take out the swords, axs, and spears and start hacking away. For whatever reason melee weapons attacking the guy in the globe are still very effective. I guess its because you are swinging through the globe unlike arrows which must be coming directly at the target in this huge globe.
